2 Robbers Die While Escaping With Stolen Jeep


Two suspected armed robbers last Sunday met their untimely deaths when a light blue Prado jeep allegedly snatched at gun point from a victim at Nyanya crashed and killed two of them on the spot.
The Jeep with Registration Number JJJ 432 AC, was said to have been snatched from one Mr. Charles Boat of office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

A source at Zuba Police Division told our reporter that on Sunday at about 9pm, a report was received at the division’s control room from one Mr. Charles Boat of SGF’s office that on the same date and time, his car a Prado Jeep light blue in colour with Reg. no. JJJ 432 AC was snatched from him at Nyanya.
“Immediately, the news was circulated to our men on patrol, some of them on patrol along Zuba- Dei- Dei road sighted them around 11:30 pm and gave them a hot chase,’’ the source said.
He added that in the process of chasing them, the jeep somersaulted and fell over the bridge and two of the occupants died instantly, while the only survivor was taken to the hospital. When contacted, the Zuba Divisional Officer, Chief Superintendent Adelegan Femi, confirmed the incident but said the case has been transferred to FCT Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
At the FCT police command, the command’s Spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent Hyelhira Altine Daniel also confirmed the incident, adding that investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
