A lecturer in the Department of Business Management, University of Calabar, Mr. Okon Effiong Ekpenyong, has lost four teeth after he was allegedly brutalised by some officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Cross River State command, for traffic offence.

 According to Punch,his vehicle developed a minor fault on Bassey Oqua Street in Calabar, near the NIS headquarters. He said after fixing it, he was leaving the area when the officials accosted and assaulted him, saying he made a U-turn at an unauthorised point

"After the car developed a fault, I called some people to help push it off the road and I went home to get my two sons to buy fuel in a jerry can because I suspected it might be petrol since the gauge was faulty.I tried to start the car after refueling, but it did not start. We had to push it down the Bassey Oqua Street, which is close to the NIS residential quarters.Immediately the car started, two NIS officials flagged me down; I obeyed. They said I had just made a U-turn at an unauthorised point and they concluded that I was a Boko Haram suspect, adding that they would not waste time in dealing with me.Immediately, about 10 other officials joined them, they forced me out of the car and started hitting me with gun butts and other weapons. I passed out in the process.”

Ekpenyong said before he became unconscious, he was able to identify four persons – a deputy comptroller, a chief superintendent and a male and female junior officials.

He said when he later regained consciousness in a cell, a senior NIS official, who identified himself as the provost, pleaded with him and released him to take care of himself in a hospital.The lecturer said he proceeded to the Airport Police Division in Calabar to report the incident from where he was taken to the Police Clinic for medical attention.
A report, which was issued by an investigating police officer, Edwin Jenuwa, confirmed that Ekpenyong was taken to the clinic at about 6pm with fresh blood stains after suffering assault and grievous harm.

 In shocking crime described by authorities as Heinous, depraved, vile, horrible and inhuman,a New Jersey woman was buried alive in a shallow grave by her landscaper after he offered to drive her to buy a new car.
Fatima Perez was reported missing on Monday evening, the same day she left her Camden home to buy the car.
 The Courier-Post reports that,the body of the 41-year-old woman was found Wednesday in Monroe Township, about 20 miles away.Her mouth and eyes were covered with duct tape before she was buried. An autopsy determined she died of asphyxiation.

 Alicea-Antonetti, the owner of Villa Coamo Landscaping and General Maintenance, picked up Perez on Monday in his van to drive her to buy the car.She had about $8,000 on her for the purchase.


She accepted a lift from Alicea-Antonetti, who was known to her family and had done landscaping work at her home

Speaking to investigators later, he claimed she fell out of his van during an argument then got back in regardless of the injury.
He admitted to then picking up Ortiz, and said the two men later bound Perez and taped her ears and mouth shut.

Oritz's statement differed, claiming that Perez was already tied up when he entered the van. He also claimed she begged him for help while they headed to the rural area where she'd be buried.He further said that Alicea-Antonetti directed him to take a shovel and dig the gave off of Clayton Road,and stated that Ms. Perez was placed in the grave, covered with lime and buried.Both men agreed she was alive when they buried her.

They covered the grave with branches and debris to try and hide it, then left.
They were arrested Wednesday when police received a tip they were hiding in an Express Inn. Alicea-Antonetti had $7,000 on him when he was arrested.

This will bring you to tears...50 year old Mannan Mondal,known as India's 'Elephant man' has turned down the opportunity to get a new face just so he can continue begging and pay for his 20 year old daughter,Rasheeda's wedding.

He refused radical re-constructive surgery offered by surgeons,and prefers going to holy sites across India to beg where he earns about £5 a day .He then sends all the money  back to his beloved family .None of them have inherited the condition..According to Daily mail,he said:

'I will have to buy a lot of things - beds, cabinets, rings, watches and a cycle for the groom,The money I earn while begging is barely enough to feed my family. But I have no other way to help my daughter. I have to continue like this. I have to think about feeding my family first.'I have been like this since birth.'If there was an option of getting better without having to pay then I would definitely take it.But not now. I have a wedding to think about. I will have to go back home, talk to my family and then decide. But feeding my family will always come first.' I was born poor and I had limited options.

'But the bones have not developed properly on one side of his face so he has no support and this has caused the tumour to drop down.To reconstruct his face we would have to take away as much of the tumour as possible. After that, we would reconstruct the vital parts of his face he is missing.'We could give him a new mouth, some kind of an eye socket and some skeletal support to make his appearance as normal as possible.'But even after the procedure, he would not be 100 per cent normal. My main aim would be to give him some comfort and to make him and his children feel like he is normal.'Surprisingly Mannan has turned his back on this opportunity - and vowed to continue begging.He feels this is his career and his sole option to make enough money to provide for his family."

Nyanya Bomb Blasts - SSS Arrests Father Of Mastermind

The State Security Services (SSS) on May 15, 2014, Thursday, announced the arrest of Col. (rtd) Agene Ogwuche, a father of the suspected co-mastermind of Nyanya motor park bombing, Abubakar Sadiq Ogwuche.

The suspected young terrorist was arrested in Sudan on May 14, 2014, Wednesday. The paperwork on his repatriation is underway.
The arrest of mastermind’s father was confirmed by SSS spokesperson, Mrs Marylyn Ogar, during a press briefing at the National Orientation Agency in Abuja. She explained that the man was arrested due to breaching the bond, which he signed while taking his son’s bail in 2012.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Frank Mba, welcomed the development, promised that the retired military man would answer for his inability to meet the bail bond. According to its terms and conditions the father was obliged to produce his son for questioning, when required.
It would be recalled that the five suspects of the deadly Abuja bomb blast have already been paraded by the SSS.  The men admitted their participation in the terrorist attack. Their relation to the second (May Day) bomb blast in the area is under investigation.
At the same time, a suspected mastermind of the bombings, a Boko Haram commander known as Rufai Abubakar Tsiga is still on the run.

How Police arrested assassins sent by Ibadan hotelier to kill Lagos socialite (Photo)

Victor  Adelakan                         Adebayo Orekoya The Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Lagos State has apprehended three men for attempting to assassinate a Lagos socialite and businessman, Mr. Victor Adelakun, aka Ade Lexus

The suspects were allegedly hired by an Ibadan-based hotelier, Mr. Adebayo Orekoya, aka Bobby Ibadan, who had been declared wanted by the Lagos State Police Command.source reports

According to police authorities, Bobby Ibadan hired four men in Ibadan to do the job and gave them an advance of N140, 000.When the suspects arrived in Lagos on Saturday, they held a meeting at a night club in Allen Avenue Ikeja, where they were said to have made plans for the operation.A SARS informant was said to have eavesdropped on their conversation and immediately alerted the officer in charge of SARS, SP Abba Kyari.



When the police searched the suspects, guns were found on them including a picture of their target.

A police bulletin made available  read in part,

“Around 1am on May 10, 2014, information was received that four assassins were sent from Ibadan by one Adebayo Orekoya, aka Bobby Ibadan, who lives in Ibadan GRA, Oyo State.The instruction given to the assassins was to kill one Ade Victor Adelakun of Ogudu GRA, Lagos.Consequently, two SARS teams proceeded to the night club where the suspects were planning their attack. Three men, Ibrahim Lawal, 27; Yomi Olanrewaju, 25; and Emmanuel Adewale, 25; were arrested, while their driver, identified only as Samuel, escaped in a Sienna Spacebus.
Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that Bobby Ibadan sent them to kill Ade Lexus, his former business partner. N100,000 out of the N140,000 given to the suspects as mobilisation fee have been recovered as well as a picture of the victim.”

Our correspondent learnt that SARS detectives were able to establish contact with Bobby Ibadan using the telephone of one of the suspects.

Bobby Ibadan, who did not know that SARS had arrested his boys, was alleged to have said,

“I want that job done today by all means. Go to the night club where Ade Lexus hangs out and go and kill him there. If you don’t see him at the night club, go to his house and get the job done.”

It was learnt that SARS detectives rushed down to Ibadan to arrest Bobby Ibadan, but he was said to have escaped.

Ade Lexus told reporters at his showroom on Lateef Jakande Street, Ikeja, that he still did not understand why Bobby Ibadan would want to terminate his life.He thanked SARS men for the “incredible work”, insisting he was still alive because of their efforts.

He said,

“Bobby is not my business associate, He is not my friend either. A friend of mine in the United Kingdom was the one that introduced him to me. I have met with Bobby only on a few occasions.If he had succeeded with the assassination, no one would have suspected him because he does not stay in Lagos and we do not chat often. He told me to lend him money a while ago for a business project, but I turned him down. Maybe that is what made him angry.Also, the arrested suspects said Bobby alleged that I snatched his wife. That is not true; I am a happily married man with beautiful children.
Anyway, I must thank SARS men for this breakthrough. I was surprised to receive a call from the SARS commander that I was the target of an assassination. I did not know the Nigeria Police worked in such a manner, I am impressed.”

Liangming, of Fengxin County in China, has just broken the record for the most time spent being covered in bees.Mr Liangming’s record of 53 minutes and 34 seconds was witnessed and authorized by a Guinness certification officer.
He said
‘I love bees and they love me. Although they call me Bee Beard I am rarely stung by my flying friends.
‘As long as you keep still and don't agitate the bees then all will be well. They are most gentle creatures really and extremely clever. They are sensitive to movement so I just keep as still as possible and they like to settle on me.
