Cardinals convene for 2nd day of conclave as Vatican prepares to choose a pope

The Catholic Church's 115 cardinal electors are taking part in the mass ahead of entering the conclave for a papal election that observers say has no clear favorite.

 All eyes are glued to the chimney on the roof of the Sistine Chapel on Wednesday, as the cardinals take part in the second day of the secretive conclave to elect a new pope.

President Jonathan fires Director-General NCAA (Dr Harold Demuren)

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the removal of Dr Harold Demuren from office as the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) with effect from March 12.


The approval is contained in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja and signed by Mr Sam Nwaobasi, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The statement said the removal followed “a careful consideration of Demuren’s unsatisfactory response to the numerous concerns of stakeholders in the aviation sector”.

It added that Jonathan wished him well in his future endeavours. (NAN)

Human part Seller caught at Ilesha

A middle-aged man has been caught selling human parts in the Oke-Opo area of Ilesha in Osun State. The man was caught by the Osun state police command after a tip off by residents of the area. 

He was actually caught while dismembering an unknown man. What he has refused to say is if he finds people, kill them, butcher them then sell their parts or if he digs graves for dead bodies and sell their parts.

And Joan Rivers has something to say about it. Lol. An 8 year old schoolboy, Sanele Masilela, married 61 year-old married mother of five, Helen Shabangu, over the weekend, because the ghost of his dead ancestor told him to and his family, fearing divine retribution, organized a quick wedding.

Defending the wedding, Sanele's family said it's not legally binding, it was just a ritual. They didn't sign a marriage certificate and won't live together. Sanele's 46yr old mum, Patience Masilela said:

'This is the first time this has happened in the family. Sanele is named after his grandfather, who never had a white wedding before he died so asked Sanele to get married. He chose Helen because he loves her. By doing this we made the ancestors happy. If we hadn't done what my son had asked then something bad would have happened in the family. I didn't have a problem with it because I know it's what the ancestors wanted and it would make them happy.
